This Just In!

CarMax Fundraiser


The Godwin Band Boosters have been offered an opportunity to staff a
Car Max family event on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. We will earn
$1900 for our efforts. May 31 is a set-up day and goes from 1PM - 5PM.
Sunday is the event day and goes from 10 AM - 6 PM including cleanup. The tasks will include monitoring games, working the grill and enjoying the day helping raise money for the band.
All we need is your help. Please let Roby know if you haven't already
your availability to help. The more people we get, the easier this will be
since we will be able to break the day into shifts. Ask your friends if
they want to help too. Please let Roby know as soon as possible.

June Band Booster Meeting June 9th 7:30 - 8:30


Orientation for rising freshmen and parents. Please plan to attend to learn what fun and adventures await you as a member of the Marching Eagles.

Ukrops Golden Gift Certificates


Please consider supporting the Band Boosters with your Ukrops Golden Gift certificates. You may leave them in the Godwin Band Boosters mailbox in the band room, or give them directly to Laura Hudson.

Summer Car Washes


Godwin Band Summer Car Washes will be at Ridgefield Exxon on July 12th, July 26th, August 9th and August 23rd. Please come out and support these important fund-raisers for the band.

2008 Godwin Band Awards Reception and Celebration is June 2nd.


Please plan to attend this annual event to honor all of our band members. $14 per person for all attendees (including children) Senior students FREE. Invitations have been mailed. Please return payment and RSVP to Laura Hartless by Friday May 9th. This is a firm deadline, no tickets at the door. Business Casual Dress.

Fall Field Show November 1st


Our biggest fundraiser of the year is the Fall Marching Band Competition. Watch for more details later.

Marching Eagles Group Photo Now Available!


Purchase an 8 x 12 copy of the 2007 Marching Eagles Group shot. Call or email Carol Butterworth, 747-5252 / carolAU81@comcast.net , to order a copy. Checks made payable to Carol Butterworth and can be mailed to: 9510 Heather Spring Rd., Richmond, VA 23238. Proceeds from the photo sales will be given to the Band Boosters. Please order by the next Booster Meeting on March 3rd.

Advertise In The Tribute Book!


Would you or a friend like to advertise your company in the Godwing Eagle Tribute Book? The Tribute Book is an annual publication put together by the Band Booster organtization to honor graduting seniors as well as to chronicle the activities and events that take place during the year. Students and parents also use this book to honor their friends and families. The Tribute book has grown over Tte years and has become a treasured memento that each student looks forward to receiving at the end of the year.

Stay "In The Know"

Please mark your calendar now with the dates of this year's Booster meetings.  They are generally held the first Monday of the month, at 7:30 pm in the Band Room.  We encourage all parents to be members of Band Boosters. It’s truly THE best way to know what’s going on with your student in the band and to get to know the great people who make up our organization.  Dues for the year are only $25 per family and afford you many benefits.  Click here for a membership form.

We also try to keep you up to date via email, so please make sure that we have your email addresses (home and work are ideal) and then update us if the address(es) should change.  Send email information to Roby Monday at Roby.H.Monday-1@usa.dupont.com.




Band Parents – Your Help is Needed!

The Godwin Band and its Booster organization cannot exist without the involvement of all parents. We must have chaperones in order to perform at football games, competitions, and to go on Spring Trip. We must have everyone's help in fundraisers in order buy equipment, instruments, and operate the Booster organization (did you know that our band will not be receiving any County funding this year?). We need your help to volunteer now as we are trying to fill remaining leadership roles and as the year progresses as the need arises. Please contact Roby Monday (750-2272) to let us know what committee(s) you are willing to help with. Please offer to lend the Boosters a hand and in doing so support our great kids and music program. Areas where we still need help:

  • Chaperones— Band Camp, After-School practices, football games, competitions
  • Field Show – Coordinators to oversee areas such as Concessions, Sales, Competition Logistics, and Facilities. Also ALL parents and students are needed to work the day of the show, Saturday, November 3rd. Parents call or email Laura Taylor for specifics. Students should contact Debra Bradshaw.
